Paper Plate Giraffe

We love this project because it’s relatively simple, uses pretty common materials and is endlessly entertaining. Once your paper plate giraffe is try, kick it up a notch with a puppet show.

Materials

  • Paper plate

  • Yellow paint

  • Brown paint

  • Paint brush

  • Yellow construction paper

  • Scissors

  • Glue

  • Large googly eyes

  • Pencil

  • Black marker

  • 2 brown pom poms

Directions

  • Paint the bottom of a plate yellow. Let dry

  • On a piece of yellow paper, draw & cut out 2 ears, 2 horns and a large circle for the muzzle

  • Glue pieces on giraffe

  • Glue on wiggle eyes & brown pom poms (hair at the top of the horns)

  • Draw a nose & mouth. Color in with marker

  • Paint brown spots on your giraffe
