Make Your Own Fingerprint Kit

Materials

• 2 empty spice jars

• Cornstarch

• Cocoa powder

• Dry paintbrush

• Sticky tape

• Colored paper

• Washable ink pad

Directions

1. Put cornstarch in one jar & cocoa powder in another

2. Find a hard surface you think might have a fingerprint hidden on it (think doorknob or cup)

3. If the surface is a light color, sprinkle some cocoa powder & gently dust it with your brush. If it’s a dark surface, use cornstarch

4. If you find a fingerprint, stick a piece of tape over it and then gently lift the tape off

5. Stick the tape onto a piece of colored paper so you can see the fingerprint.
