Host a Black Light Candy Hunt

Don’t have a black light? No worries - read below for how to make your own.

Make Your Own Black Light

1. Place a piece of clear tape over your phone’s flash

2. Color the tape with a blue marker. Place another piece of tape on top of that and color tape again with blue marker

3. Place a third piece of tape over the flash and this time, color with the purple marker. Place a fourth piece of tape on top and color with the purple marker

4. Place a 5th and final piece of tape over the purple so that it doesn’t smudge. Turn on your flashlight. Boom - you have a black light!

Host Your Candy Hunt

1. Cut paper ghosts out of white paper

2. Use a black marker to draw faces on the ghosts

3. Gather candy

4. Poke a hole in each ghost and tie it onto the candy wrapper

5. Hide the candy and ghosts all over your yard or home 

6. Once it’s completely dark out (and if you’re inside, turn off all the lights), hand over the black light flashlight and go ghost hunting
