Room for Everyone by Naaz Kahn. A heartwarming and joyous book set in Zansibar. As the daladala—a minibus common in Tanzania—heads to the beach, sibling Musa and Dada help bicyclists, farmers, travelers, animals and deep-sea divers hop on with the family. Beautiful illustrations and rhyming texts create a charming story. Recommended for infants.
It Fell From the Sky by Eric Fan. A strange and beautiful orb falls into their habitat, so a spider constructs “WonderVille.” He sells tickets to curious insects-until the visitors stop. Will spider learn his lesson about art and community? Recommended for toddlers.
Egg Marks the Spot by Amy Timberlake. Odd-couple pals Skunk and Badger return and must thwart cousin's Fisher’s attempts to steal a dinosaur egg from its chicken protectors. A great series with adventure and heart. Recommended for elementary schoolers.
Willodeen by Katherine Applegate. Eleven-year-old Willodeen adores creatures of all kinds, especially Screechers. Willodeen and her new friend Connor are determined to speak up for the animals she loves, help the ailing town of Perchance and discover why the magical hummingbears are missing. Recommended for tweens.
