Crystal Candy Canes

Materials

• Borax

• Water

• Mason jars

• Pan, spoon, measuring cups, tbsp

• Red, green & white pipe cleaners

• Ribbons

Directions

1. Shape candy canes from pipe cleaners

2. Boil water, turn off the heat, add borax and stir to mix as it won’t completely dissolve.

3. Pour into jars and place in an area where they won’t get knocked around.

4. In a few hours you will see crystals beginning to grow and by the next morning (18-24hours), your crystal candy canes will be covered in cool-looking crystals.

5. Take crystals out and place them on paper towels to dry a bit.
