Sidewalk Squirty Chalk

We love a good sidewalk chalk session. Outdoor time + crafting time. Kick it up a notch with homemade paint. This activity recommends squirt bottles - in a pinch, use water bottles and cut a small hole in them.

Materials

  • Corn startch

  • Food coloring

  • Water

  • Squirt bottles

  • Baking soda

Directions

  • Fill each squirt bottle with 2/3 way with baking soda & corn starch mixture. Use roughly the same amount of each

  • Add a few drops of food coloring to each bottle

  • Fill the rest of bottle with water

  • Use a knife to stir. Mixture will be very thick at first, then combine into paint

  • Place caps on bottles & squirt away
